10-count Swing out with footwork variation at the end

Ali and Katja show a swing out variation with a triple triple triple step at the end.

First Ali and Katja from Germany demonstrate this 10-count swing out variation – with an extra triple step on the right for the leaders and on the left for the followers. The move is then explained in detail.

This is an easy intermediate Swing out variation that helps you to build a more open mindset when it comes to swing outs – they don’t always have to be 8 counts.

Leaders, remember to slide on the right very clearly to make it easier to the followers to follow.

Swing out technique + variations

Jean and Kirk show the Swing out, as well as footwork variations for the Swing out.

In the first variation, the leader replaces his first triple step on counts 3&4 with a jump step.
In the second variation, the feeling is more of a Charleston Groove Walk Swingout with the following footwork: rock (1st beat) step (2nd beat) – hold step (beats 3&4) – rock (5th beat) step (6th beat) – hold step (beats 7&8)

Texas Tommy variation and Swing out footwork variation

Nick and Carla show a Texas Tommy variation and footwork variation on the end of a Swingout.

In this video you can see some different Texas Tommy variations and footwork variations for them.

There are also two ways to to send a follower out of a Swing out. Either with the follower facing away from the leader, or the more common type where the follower faces the leader all the way through the Swing out. For both of these types there are footwork variations on the end of the Swing out.
