Shorty George and Big Bea

“Shorty” George Snowden and Big Bea do a Lindy Hop performance in 1937.

Shorty George is the famous dancer the gave Lindy Hop it’s name. Also the Jazz step “the Shorty George” is named after him.

Shorty George and Big Bea’s move at the end of this video where Bea takes “Shorty” on her back is what inspired Frankie Manning to develop the first airstep.
